Colours and shapes

Our unglazed Victorian floor tile range contains 32 colours, encompassing traditional and contemporary shades. The tone will vary subtly between factory production runs but remains consistent.

Made of natural materials, all tiles have straight edges and are an identical colour throughout their thickness of approximately 9mm.

The larger square, octagon and hexagon tiles, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm, have a 1mm bevelled edge.

As this range of ceramic tiles is made traditionally in moulds, there can be very slight variations in sizing between the kiln fired batches of production.

Apart from a subtle difference in size and colour, this range is the highest quality ceramic tile we have found to reproduce original Victorian floor tile designs.

Our range of tiles are manufactured by Winckelmans, since 1894.

The standard white tile in our range is a traditional Victorian colour – a creamy off-white. There is a brighter off-white tile available at a slightly higher cost which is sometimes preferred.

Some shapes, including hexagons and fittings have a limited range of colours available at the UK wholesaler, but can be ordered from the factory in the full range of colours.

The tile sizes listed are approximate. As this range of ceramic tiles is made traditionally - dust pressed, pre-moulded, and kiln fired - there can be very slight variations in sizing between batches of production.

Bespoke items, and more unusual tiles, will require a special order with the factory. Lead times waiting for Winckelmans production schedule are approximately 16 weeks.

Information about fittings

The UK wholesaler stocks a limited range of fittings and colours, however we can order direct from the factory.

Corner step treads, anti-slip 'rice grain', anti-slip 'orange peel', pool edge grip, channel, pool angles, and internal or external skirting corners are also available, but not shown above.

Please note, 'sit-on skirting' has been discontinued. There is limited stock available at the factory of some colours.

Please note

We are the only UK retailer to stock and supply the original type of Winckelmans (screen printed) encaustic tiles in 50mm, 70mm and 100mm sizes.

We can also source Winckelmans traditionally made decorated tiles. These are made to order in any of the 32 colours in the range. Lead times are normally 8 - 16 weeks.
